Make a full mock-up (muslin) to perfect sleeve length, shoulder fit, and overall silhouette.
Fit adjustments and expert guidance to ensure your jacket fits just right.
Patterns available to purchase, or bring your own.
Planning help for custom patchwork — get one-on-one support to design block placement, color balance, and seam alignment.
Between Sessions
Take your mock-up home to try on and note any tweaks. Create patchwork pieces to match your drafted pattern and quilt.
Workshop 2 — Quilting Layout & Construction
Lay out your quilted fabric for the best visual balance and placement on the jacket.
Learn techniques for layering, quilting, and stabilizing jacket panels.
Begin construction: joining panels, setting sleeves, adding collars/fastenings as time allows.
What to expect
Small class size for plenty of instructor attention.
Friendly, patient guidance suitable for confident beginners through experienced sewists.
Tips for finishing touches: lining, facings, hems, and closures that hold up to wear.
Bring
Your measurements and pattern if you have one (optional).
Fabric and quilting cotton/patchwork pieces, batting, and lining (a materials list will be provided upon registration).
Sewing machine in good working order.
Duration & Cost
Two workshops, scheduled for Saturday 10th and 31st of October.
Cost covers both sessions and in-class instruction. Pattern costs and materials are additional.
