Workshop - Brother Scan N Cut - Boxes with Pam

Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting a Brother Scan N Cut class with Pam. We had a great time creating beautiful gift boxes and tags and we all learnt a lot about our machines including how to calibrate them and how to use metallic gel pens for a beautiful finish.

We learnt lots of handy tips and tricks and got inspired to create some gifts for our friends and family, thanks so much Pam, we can’t wait for the next class!

I hope everyone can join us for our next Workshop, which will be In the hoop on the 3rd of September.

Workshop - In the Hoop - Boxy Zipped Bag

This morning we held an In the hoop workshop with Lorna, we created this beautiful Boxy zipped bag, which would make a beautiful gift. This project was done entirely in a 260 x 200 hoop except for finishing the boxy corners.

This is a quick, easy project for using up jelly rolls, you could even coat the lining using Odicoat which would make a perfect wash bag or makeup bag.

You could easily use one piece of fabric to wrap around from the front to the back if you wanted to us a panel for example, there’s so many different things you could do with this cute design.

We hope to see you all at our next workshop which is taking place on Wednesday 14th August which will be a Brother Scan N Cut class with Pam, we will be creating decorative boxes and much more.

Workshop - The Yarn Couched Pouch

Yesterday we were excited to have Cath Quinlan from Blessington, in store for a workshop suitable for Designer EPIC, Epic 980Q, DD Series, DR series, & Sapphire 960Q machines. We were able to play with some of the Husqvarna exclusive patented stitch techniques including decorative Yarn Embellishment Stitches. We also had a chance to try out the Yarn Embellishment Foot, Three Hole Yarn Foot, Narrow Zipper Foot and the interchangeable walking foot.

Not only did Cath show us how to use these accessories, but she also showed us how to best utilise some of the features of our machines, many of us learned tips, tricks and techniques that we can use in future projects.

We pieced together this beautiful pouch using strips of fabric, we then had a chance to get really creative with our yarn and various decorative accessories to create a truly unique project.

We hope to see you all at our next workshop which is taking place on Tuesday 6th August which will be an In the Hoop design with Lorna, we will be creating a fun Boxy Zipped Bag.
